I recently stayed at The Ivy Rose Tea House, just 15 minutes away from Charlottesville. This cozy cottage sits on 3 acres, offering plenty of privacy and beautiful views of the surrounding area. It’s perfect if you want a quiet retreat near the mountains and local attractions like Charlottesville.


The cottage has two bedrooms and one bathroom, making it ideal for a small group or, like in our case, a family of four. I loved the wrap-around covered deck where I enjoyed my morning coffee while taking in the peaceful scenery.


The place has all the modern amenities you could need, including a fully equipped kitchen, free WiFi, air conditioning, and even a washer and dryer. It felt like a home away from home. Plus, it’s close enough to easily visit the popular Brewery Trail in Crozet.

Tim's Cabin

I recently stayed at Tim’s Cabin in Earlysville, Virginia, and it was such a peaceful retreat. Located on an 85-acre property, the cabin sits atop a small hill surrounded by trees, with an opening that provides a stunning view of the Blue Ridge Mountains.


This cozy cabin has one bedroom and one bathroom and can sleep up to four people. At 1,200 square feet, it feels spacious yet intimate. It’s also pet-friendly, which was great because I could bring my dog along for the trip.


One of my favorite features was the fireplace, which made the cabin feel so warm and inviting. The outdoor space was another highlight, perfect for grilling on the barbecue. I spent a lot of time outside enjoying the fresh air and beautiful scenery.


Inside, the cabin is equipped with a full kitchen and air conditioning, which is essential for those warmer summer days. The drive to the University of Virginia was only about 20 minutes, which made it easy to explore Charlottesville.

I recently discovered the Tiny Home Mountain Retreat in Charlottesville, VA, and it’s perfect for a cozy getaway. This tiny home offers one bedroom with a comfy king bed, a bathroom with a shower, and everything you need from a deck to a full kitchen.


It’s a fantastic spot if you love the outdoors. You can enjoy mornings on the deck, surrounded by nature. The kitchen is well-equipped, so you can easily prepare your favorite meals.


This place is pet-friendly, which is awesome because I got to bring my dog along. WiFi is free, and there’s air conditioning to keep you cool in the summer.

The Recycled House

If you are looking for a different and unique place, check out The Recycled House. I stayed at it once and it was an amazing experience. Located in Charlottesville’s North Downtown neighborhood, this house is a true gem. It’s built mostly from materials that have been repurposed, giving them a new life.


The house took over six years to complete. You can see all the thought and effort that went into it. Every corner of the house has a story to tell.


I also love how close it is to everything. Just four blocks from the Downtown Mall, I could easily walk to shops and restaurants. The University of Virginia isn’t far away either.


The house itself sleeps six people comfortably. The inside is so unique that it’s hard to describe. You really have to see it to understand its charm. 


It was fun exploring all the reused materials. Every piece has a past, and it feels like staying in a living museum. If you’re looking for a unique place to stay in Charlottesville, I can definitely recommend The Recycled House. It’s unlike anywhere else I’ve ever been.

Norfolk, VA

Stepping into The Hide Away feels like entering a cozy sanctuary. With four bedrooms and four bathrooms, it comfortably sleeps eight guests. The space spans 2700 square feet, giving everyone plenty of room to relax.


I love the fully equipped kitchen where I can prepare meals for my family. The air conditioning ensures we stay cool during the hot summer days. The fireplace adds a touch of warmth during cooler evenings, creating the perfect ambiance for unwinding.


Doing laundry is a breeze with the washer and dryer on-site. Outside, the barbecue grill is ideal for cooking up some delicious food while enjoying the fresh air.


Located just a three-minute drive from Oceanview Fishing Pier, The Hide Away is conveniently close to popular attractions. Norfolk International Airport is just 12 minutes away, making it easy for friends and family to visit. The house’s proximity to Naval Station Norfolk and Old Dominion University is also a plus.

Waterfront Cottage

I once stayed at this cozy waterfront cottage near downtown Norfolk, and it was an amazing experience. The cottage is perfect for two people, with one bedroom and one bathroom. It’s pretty spacious at 700 square feet, giving plenty of room to relax.


The kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal. There’s also a barbecue grill outside, which is great for cooking while enjoying the view of the Elizabeth River. The place was really clean, with a washer and dryer available.


One of my favorite things about this cottage was the fireplace. It made the evenings feel extra special and cozy. The air conditioning kept the place comfortable during the day.


The location was great too. It’s only a five-minute drive to Norfolk State University and a short ride from popular spots like the Waterside District and Norfolk Premium Outlets. Getting to the airport was a breeze as it’s just 12 minutes away.


This cottage felt like a perfect little retreat. I loved being close to the water and still having easy access to downtown Norfolk.

Captains Quarters

Looking for a cozy place to stay in Norfolk, VA? I found the perfect spot: Captains Quarters by the Bay. This charming cottage has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, comfortably sleeping 9 people. It’s a spacious 2200 sq ft home, with plenty of room for everyone.


The cottage is just a one-minute walk from Willoughby Beach and a short drive from popular spots like the Oceanview Fishing Pier and Naval Station Norfolk. You can easily explore the area and enjoy the local attractions.


Inside, there’s a fully-equipped kitchen, perfect for cooking meals. The living area has a comfy fireplace, making it a great spot to relax. There’s also air conditioning to keep you cool in the summer.

Manor and Mutts #2

I recently stayed at Manor and Mutts #2 in Norfolk, VA, and it was incredible. This cozy beachfront cottage has everything you need. It’s pet-friendly, so I could bring my dog, which was a big plus for me.


The home features three bedrooms and two bathrooms, comfortably sleeping up to eight people. The kitchen is fully equipped, making it easy to cook meals. There’s also a large living area with a fireplace, perfect for relaxing after a day at the beach.


Manor and Mutts #2 is part of a duplex, but it feels very private. The outdoor space is great for barbecuing, and the large deck offers a beautiful ocean view. I loved how close it was to local attractions like the Oceanview Fishing Pier and the Naval Station Norfolk.


With air conditioning and free private parking, this place ensures a comfortable stay. I highly recommend Manor and Mutts for anyone looking to enjoy a beach vacation in Norfolk.

Beachfront Home

My family and I stayed in this amazing beachfront home in Norfolk, VA and really liked it. The house is 2,500 square feet, with three king-size bedrooms and a third floor that has two sofa beds. There’s a full kitchen on the main floor and a kitchenette upstairs, perfect for making quick snacks or second meals.


It’s literally just 40 steps from the sandy beach, so I could go back and forth without any hassle. The view from the balcony is stunning – I started every morning with coffee while watching the sunrise and ended each day with a glass of wine as the sun set.

I’ve found the perfect place for anyone looking to stay in Richmond, VA. This modern and spacious home has everything you could need. With 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, it comfortably sleeps 4 people. What makes it special is the blend of modern amenities and a homely feel.


When I first walked in, I noticed the fireplace right away. It’s perfect for cozying up during colder evenings. The kitchen is fully equipped, making it easy to prepare meals. The air conditioning system keeps the house cool and comfortable, especially during those hot summer days.


The outdoor space is a great feature too. Whether you want to enjoy a morning coffee or have a small gathering, the space is versatile. There’s also a washer, which is super convenient for longer stays.


One of the best things is the location. It’s just a minute’s walk from Virginia Commonwealth University and a short walk to places like the Altria Theater and the Greater Richmond Convention Center. The airport is also just a 13-minute drive away, making travel super easy.

I also stayed at the James River House during my last visit to the area, a cozy vacation rental with plenty of charm.

The location is pretty convenient too. It’s an 11-minute drive to Dorey Park and only 16 minutes to the Richmond National Battlefield Park. The Richmond International Airport is just 17 minutes away, making travel easy. The Greater Richmond Convention Center is a quick 25-minute drive.


Staying at the James River House was a pleasant experience, and I can’t wait to visit again.

The first time I decided to visit Richmond, staying in this cozy downtown retreat seemed like the perfect choice. Located close to everything, this charming apartment was more than just a place to sleep.


The apartment has a king-sized bed which feels like sleeping on a cloud. The décor is a blend of modern and boho chic, creating a comfortable atmosphere that immediately felt like home.


I appreciated the fully equipped kitchen, making it easy to cook my favorite meals. The living area had a large sofa, perfect for lounging after a day exploring the city.


In the heart of Richmond, I found it convenient to walk to nearby cafes, restaurants, and historical sites. The vibrant neighborhood added to the experience, offering a true taste of local life.


Plus, the apartment’s high rating and positive reviews were reassuring, highlighting its cleanliness and excellent customer service.

Cozy Cabin @ James River

During one of my recent visits to the Richmond area,  my family and I stayed at the Cozy Cabin @James River, and it was such a relaxing experience. The cabin has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which comfortably sleeps six people. It’s perfect for a family or a small group of friends.


One of the best parts about this cabin is its location. It’s just a short 4-minute drive to the Richmond National Battlefield Park. For those who love the outdoors, this is a great spot to explore history and nature.


The cabin also offers amenities like a washer, dryer, and air conditioning. After a day of hiking or exploring, it was nice to come back and relax in a comfortable, cool space. The kitchen was well-equipped, making it easy to prepare meals.


Another perk is its proximity to Dorey Park and the Greater Richmond Convention Center. Both are just a short drive away, which adds to the convenience.


If you’re flying in, the cabin is only about 16 minutes from Richmond International Airport, making travel easy and stress-free.


For a cozy and convenient stay in Richmond, I highly recommend checking out the Cozy Cabin @James River. It was such a peaceful retreat with all the comforts of home and we cannot wait to come back.

Art Deco Villa

My stay at the Art Deco Villa in Richmond, and it was an amazing experience. The villa is located in the Museum District, very close to Carytown and VCU. It’s a walkable area, so I could easily check out some of the best restaurants and parks in Richmond.


The villa can host up to four people with its two bedrooms. Each room had provided ample comfort and privacy, making it a cozy place to relax. The bathroom was modern and had both a bathtub and a shower, which made it super convenient.


I loved using the kitchen to prepare meals. It’s fully equipped with everything you might need. Another great thing was having a washer and dryer right there, no need to find a laundromat.


The outdoor space included a barbecue grill, which made for a fun day of grilling and hanging out. With air conditioning, the villa was always cool, even in the summer heat.

The River House

I found this amazing spot called The River House in Roanoke, VA and I thought it would be worth including it on this list. Located along the scenic Roanoke River, it offers a unique stay with a mix of historic charm and modern comforts.


Originally built in 1925 as an icehouse, this building was transformed into luxury apartments in 2012. It blends historic and modern industrial features, providing a unique living experience.


The apartment is spacious, featuring tall ceilings and modern appliances. I loved that it’s so quiet inside due to the old icehouse construction. Plus, there’s an outdoor patio right by the river.


It includes convenient amenities like a small gym, a kitchen, air conditioning, and a dryer. The outdoor space has grills and comfy furniture, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the river view.

I recently stayed at Planterosa, and it was such a cozy spot to unwind. Located just a short drive from the heart of Roanoke, it’s close to hiking trails and only 15-20 minutes from downtown. I loved how peacefully it was very close to the Appalachian Trail.


With one bedroom and one bathroom, the apartment is perfect for a small group or a getaway for two. The place is pretty spacious with 875 sq ft to stretch out and relax. The kitchen had everything I needed to whip up meals, and there’s even a fireplace that made evenings feel extra warm and inviting.


One of my favorite parts was the outdoor space. Whether I wanted to enjoy my morning coffee outside or just take in some fresh air, it was a great feature. Plus, having free WiFi made it easy to stay connected.


The location is super convenient. Hollins University is just a 7-minute drive away, and if you feel like exploring more, the Berglund Center and Valley View Mall are within 15 minutes. Getting to and from the airport was also a breeze, taking only about 20 minutes.

Staying at The Liberty Trust in Roanoke, VA, was an unforgettable experience. The hotel is set in a beautifully preserved Edwardian-era bank building. I loved the historic details, from the grand copper doors to the sophisticated décor.


My room was both comfortable and stylish, with hand-selected furnishings that made it feel unique. There were various room sizes available, featuring either a king bed, queen bed, or two queen beds. Each room had modern amenities, ensuring a pleasant stay.


The hotel’s central location added to its charm. It was a short walk to attractions like the Science Museum of Western Virginia. Dining and shopping options were also nearby, making it convenient to explore Roanoke.


I felt truly pampered with the personalized service and elegant ambiance. The combination of historical charm and modern comfort made staying at The Liberty Trust a memorable part of my visit to Roanoke.

I really liked Roanoke Mountain Home, it’s just perfect for a vacation. It’s a great spot to relax with all the comforts of home while being surrounded by nature. The house is stylish with comfy furniture, lots of light, and everything you need for a great stay.

I also stayed at the Cedars of Williamsburg Bed & Breakfast and loved its charm. This place has a Georgian brick home with a sunken front garden, making it feel like stepping back in time. The property is large, with 11 rooms, including a separate two-room cottage.


The rooms are cozy with hardwood floors and period furnishings. Some even have fireplaces, adding to the romantic atmosphere. It’s perfect for a getaway with a colonial touch.


Breakfast was a highlight. They served gourmet meals that really hit the spot each morning. Plus, there’s free Wi-Fi, so I stayed connected easily.


The location is fantastic. It’s just one minute away from the College of William and Mary and a short walk to Merchants Square. Busch Gardens is also just a ten-minute drive away, making it a great spot for exploring Williamsburg.

Wedmore Place

The first time I visited the area I stayed at Wedmore Place in Williamsburg, VA, and it felt like traveling back in time. Each room is uniquely designed, inspired by different European provinces. The hotel features 28 rooms and suites, each offering a distinct experience. Waking up to views of the countryside made my mornings perfect.


The location is ideal too. It’s situated on the beautiful grounds of the Williamsburg Winery. I loved exploring the vineyard and enjoying wine tastings just a short walk from my room.


Breakfast at Wedmore Place was delightful. The selection of pastries and quiche made for a great start to my day. The staff were friendly and always ready to assist, making my stay even more enjoyable.

York Point

Another charming spot is York Point in Williamsburg, VA. It’s really a unique place with a mix of history and comfort. The location puts you close to both the serene York River and the vibrant historic district.


The house itself felt super cozy and had all the amenities I needed. The living room had this beautiful fireplace where I spent many evenings. The kitchen was fully equipped, perfect for cooking my meals.


My bedroom had a comfy king-sized bed and a lovely view of the water. Waking up to that sight every morning was amazing. The bathroom was spacious and had a great shower, which I really appreciated after long days of exploring.


York Point also has a great outdoor space. There’s a deck with seating where I enjoyed my morning coffee while watching the boats go by. The backyard is large, making it a great spot for picnics or just lounging in the sun.


If you’re into water activities, the dock allows for kayaking or fishing. It’s such a peaceful spot, yet close enough to all the action in Williamsburg. I found it to be the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure.

The cabin is pet-friendly, so I could bring my dog along. It’s close to local attractions like the Dukes of Hazzard Museum, the Luray Zoo, and the famous Luray Caverns. Silver Lake Bed and Breakfast

I had an amazing stay at the Silver Lake Bed and Breakfast. Located in Dayton, Virginia, this charming inn is just about an eight-minute drive from both Harrisonburg and James Madison University. The address, 1331 Silver Lake Road, makes it easy to find.


This bed and breakfast is set in a beautifully restored log cabin from 1750. The old stones and logs give it a cozy, historic feel. I loved learning that the home has stood the test of time while still offering modern comforts.


Amenities like free WiFi and air conditioning made my stay super comfortable. Breakfast was included, which was a great bonus. There’s also ample parking, so I didn’t have to worry about my car.


I enjoyed visiting nearby attractions such as the Harrisonburg Farmers Market and the Rockingham Fairgrounds. The place is only 23 minutes from Weyers Cave airport, making it very convenient for out-of-town visitors. Staying in this log cabin with a spectacular view of Shenandoah National Park is an experience like no other. I found it to be a wonderful place that’s ideal for a cozy getaway.


The cabin features two comfortable bedrooms and can sleep up to six people. There’s just one bathroom, but it’s equipped with everything you need, including a bathtub or shower and a toilet. I love the rustic feel this cabin offers while still being modern and clean.


One of the best things about this cabin is the amazing outdoor space. The front porch provides direct-facing mountain views. In the back, there’s a private patio with a hot tub, perfect for relaxing in the evening. I also enjoyed using the Weber gas grill and sitting around the fire pit under the stars.


It’s conveniently located just a few minutes drive to major attractions like Skyline Caverns and Shenandoah River State Park. The Front Royal Entrance to Shenandoah National Park is nearby, making it easy to explore the park.


The amenities here are great. With air conditioning and a fireplace, I stayed comfortable no matter the weather. The kitchen is well-equipped for cooking up my favorite meals. Plus, it’s pet-friendly, so I was able to bring my furry friend along.


This cabin is a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure, offering all the comforts of home with the beauty of Shenandoah right outside the door.

Helms Mountain Getaway

When I arrived at the Helms Mountain Getaway, I was immediately struck by how cozy it felt. This place is perfect for a small group, comfortably sleeping up to six people with two bedrooms. One of my favorite features was the hot tub; it’s a fantastic spot to relax after a day of hiking.


The cabin has everything I needed, including air conditioning which was much appreciated during the warmer days. The kitchen was well-stocked, making it easy to prepare meals. The outdoor space is great, too—I spent my evenings around the barbecue grill, enjoying the fresh mountain air.

If you’re flying in, it’s a bit of a drive from the nearest airport in Front Royal, but totally worth it. This cozy space features 864 sq ft of comfort and is my new go-to spot for a relaxing mountain retreat.
